As we were growing up, my father would tell us stories about how his generation made box carts as kids. For years I have wanted to recreate this lost art on canvas. Last summer he made this all possible by making the model featured in this painting entitled "Test Run".
Although this was the boys' first experience, it was amazing to see their thrill and excitement as they mastered the cart in no time.
About Nicole Minnis
Bahamian artist Nicole, the eldest of three children, was born to Eddie and Sherry Minnis in 1970. She graduated from Queen's College Senior High School in 1986 with seven G.C.E.'s, including a distinction in Art. Her recognition as a young Bahamian painter started soon after she left school when she won numerous Central Bank and Esso competitions. She also received an award in the senior division of the Arts and Crafts Exhibition for meritorious works of Art. In May of 1988, she held her first individual Art Exhibition and participated in a joint Caribbean Art Exhibition held in Toronto, Canada.
